European Day of Languages 2020
is present in our everyday education at de Wilge. This is part of our effort to
teach children about internationalization. Our vision statement on
internationalization explains what that means to us: "We
learn about different cultures and traditions, in order to increase our understanding
and respect of these cultures." We work
on this in a variety of ways. One of those ways is the celebration of feasts
and festivals from different cultures and countries around the world.
26 is the official date of the 'European Day of Languages'. This celebration is
organized by the European Union and aims to increase understanding of different
cultures through the appreciation of the different languages that we speak. Around
this date each group will learn about the value of many different European languages
that surround us.
